WHAT WE'RE ABOUT
In case you’re still wondering, WYMONT was schemed up by Kristen from Red Lodge Events (MT), and Janie from RunCodyWY (WY). Our goal is to bridge the gap between our two communities and further spread the love of running, community, and let’s be honest, a good post-run beer.
Janie Curtis, RUN CODY WY
RunCodyWY was started 4 years ago by Janie. “My goal was to unite a running community in Cody by establishing (free) weekly runs, and a local Half Marathon and 10K that will eventually grow into a full Marathon. My hope is that these races would put Cody on the map as a destination race location - we already had the destination, we just needed the race(s). The last couple years, RunCodyWY has grown into 4 running events: The Hunt Trail Race, The Cody Beer Mile, The MAC Mountain Run, and the Buffalo Bill Cody Half Marathon & 10K. My goal is to create sustainable events that bring people together, encourage fitness and a challenge, and celebrations with food and beer at every finish line.”
Kristen Hollum, Red Lodge Events
After volunteering her way into races for a couple years, Kristen took over race directing the Beartooth Run, Nitty Gritty, and Turn, Pedal, Burn in 2016 and then purchased Red Lodge Events at the end of 2019. "Our motto is 'Low Key, High Elevation' and we mean it. Our race atmosphere is laid back and approachable for all ages and abilities -the terrain might be challenging but the social scene isn't! We have the best snacks, loudest cowbell, keep entry fees affordable, welcome all bodies, and focus on building a community of runners in the Beartooths! Dogs and beer always welcome!"
